» The Twitter Campaign, What will you tweet?

Twitter seems to currently be a platform for embedding any number of things in the international consciousness (usually for only a day.) This uses hashtags. (More on this to follow)

There is a Top Ten trending topics list in front of every Twitter user in the world (millions of users.)

IF WE ALL TWEET WITHIN A 30 MINUTE PERIOD AT THE SAME TIME, THE PRETENDER WILL APPEAR IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF EYES AROUND THE WORLD!

So, here's the plan ..

1. If you're not on Twitter, join up at http://twitter.com (you can delete your account when we've finished if you don't want to stay on it.) It's free!

2. At a specific time -see below-we all tweet a message (no more than 140 characters is allowed) talking about The Pretender. Anything at all, it doesn't matter. Talk about the episodes, the actors, quotes, etc. Even 'I can't wait for the #ThirdPretenderMovie' but remember the 140 character limitation.


The important thing is that you type the following somewhere in the tweet:

#ThirdPretenderMovie

The trending topic system works by picking up words with a hash in front of them - hashtags - and if enough of us get involved it will push The Pretender up the trending list into the top 10; et voila - The Pretender or Third Pretender Movie in front of millions of eyes! It also gets viral with people tweeting 'What's #ThePretender? Why is it trending?'

IMPORTANT: We need to tweet regularly within the 30 minute period, to get the hashtag moving, but don't keep cutting and pasting the same message, vary it every time, so the search list doesn't look like spam.

The nearest date of significance is the anniversary of the premiere of The Pretender on September 19th.

If we can all get on board by that date to be able to pull it off then, it would be perfect.

London 4pm
Australia (Sydney) 1am (20th September)
Canada (Toronto) 11am
Germany (Berlin) 5pm
Russia (Moskow) 7pm
USA (New York) 11am
