I guess you all heard of Harve who played Mr. Parker so well...here he is on YT:

Of what are you speaking, Miss Parker?
 I loved when he sang that song  ...that's my first memory of him. My sisters had seen him in The Unsinkable Molly Brown before that, but I knew him first as Rotten Luck Willy. He was so good looking! |

I'd not heard anything on the news about his death...guess he wasn't famous enough to vie with Michael Jackson...anyway I did a search and saw that he had been battling pancreatic cancer. The Pretender fans in my family are sad!

I just heard, came upon the news by chance (through some obscure website dedicated to the Big Lebowski). Very sad news indeed. I'm surprised it didn't get any press. Guess it's all about Michael Jackson...

He was more famous for his work in musicals than tP unfortunately, and tP has been off the air too long I suppose......wonder what Steven and Craig are up to....they promised us closure!!
Though it will not be the same without Mr. Parker, at least it is not impossible continue the series, because he jumped off the plane in IOTH.... Did any one post a message in the online condolence book? There was a link on facebook, and I think I copied it to FrustratedTpFans group. -------------------- |

I haven't posted anything, yet, but plan to when I get some time to spend on the computer. My niece said, "I'm really going to miss him. He made such a good 'crappy dad.'"
I agree...he was the best "crappy dad" even if you include Homer Simpson in the running...and that's pretty crappy!!! |

 She's right! He really was the best 'crappy' dad. I can see why MP found it hard to not love her daddy. We should all watch some Mr. Parker eps on Hulu or fancast or our dvds in his honor....I guess I should make a list! -------------------- |

Yes, Miss Parker, do make a list...pick the crappiest of the crappy!!!
At the top of the list would have to be "Till Death Do Us Part." Wasn't that the one where he's just had Brigitte eliminated and then says, "Life goes on" failing to even be curious about whether the baby is a boy or girl? That was sublimely crappy if you ask me!!!   |

Oh yeah, that was quite crappy, but I don't think he even bothered to use the "Life goes on" ...although....I can't seem to remember exactly what he said but I think it was a lot worse! MP was so horrified she asked him if he didn't want to know if the baby was a girl or a boy.

I never did hear it on the news, Quibus, too much Michael Jackson stuff but did look it up after Miss Parker's post here. I emailed the news to all my sisters and nieces, so we could commiserate together. I will really miss him, too!

If you have alerts for The Pretender, you would have gotten the news though, quite early too.
Also, a producer who worked on tP died recently and I've noticed daily alerts announcing his passing from Google. I don't remember what eps he worked on but RIP Harvey Frand. (Isn't it a coincidence, two Harveys.....?) -------------------- |
